Praticum

I'm an Education Major so I have to put in 16 hours this semester working at a school. Because i'm a Secondary English major i've got to do it at a high school. So my placement ended up in Watertown MN in Mrs Sara Warren's Freshman Literature class. I love it already! The class was very disciplined and structured. We read the story "The Gift of the Magi" by O'Henry and she even asked the same question we were asked when we read it. If your house was buring down was is the thing that you would save? I remember writing my blankie down....i think its stil one of my most prized possessions. My mom made it for me when i was a baby....i love it...

One boy even said his bible! I thought that was amazing....She actually mentioned faith a couple times...the story parallels the bible's christmas story so she spoke about that as well....

She gave me a tip as well; Instead of welcoming your class with a ten minute lecture trying to get their attention let them come in and sit down and start some work so that you aren't trying to talk over them....by the time they're done working they'll have calmed down enough for you to start your lesson....

In all it was amazing...I hope that this feeling continues....
